I started taking art more seriously at UWC Maastricht in the Netherlands, where I studied Visual Arts, Film, and Mathematics at Higher Level. I loved all three and was always looking for a way to bring them together, even when I wasn’t quite sure what that would look like.

At Bennington College, I studied Visual Arts alongside Mathematics. I spent more time painting and printmaking, while exploring metric spaces and advanced calculus alongside other mathematics classes. What I learned in those classes gradually found its way into my studio, especially when I started making games and objects that needed to work as well as look a certain way.

Studying in different countries also made me think more about what I carried with me from home. Family photographs, familiar symbols, and games I grew up with became part of my work. I began turning those references into things people could hold, use, and play with. That is what I enjoy most now: bringing my interests together to make something personal that someone else can spend time with.
